He'll Never Learn

How old do you have to be to know what foods will make you sick? 50 years, 55 years, 10 years, 20 years?
Vernon hasn't managed yet to stay away from the foods that make him sick. It is like the person who hurts themselves intentionally. And when someone says, "Uh, should you really eat that popcorn? on a school night?" We get the evil eye. I suppose that is why he eats all this bad stuff while we are at church at CCE. We come home to the telltale wrappers or dirty dishes that reveal the damage yet to come.
"But it tastes so good!" I know, I love certain foods, too, but if it makes me sick I have to learn to not eat them. I love fried foods, and meat and sausage and grape juice/grapes. However, grapes and grape juice give me terrible gas and bloating, so I don't eat grapes or grape juice. It is just not worth the pain of the cramping and the misery of your own farts that can kill. Sorry, TMI, right?
Anyway, I can't rid the house of his bad stuff because I am not going to punish the rest of us for the many things that the man should not eat, but does. I love popcorn and coconut and crab. Amy and Colt adore ice cream and real milk. Colt is gaga for sour cream. No beano and lactaid do not help. Any other suggestions?

OH MY BAJEEZERS AND HOLY GUACAMOLE!!!!

And I thought Geometry couldn't be more complex!!! (Prepare for your brain to ooze out your ears(sorry if that's gross, don't care)). We've joined all the properties of Quadrilaterals, plus Trigonometry, plus Proofs, plus Radicals to come up with FINDING THE AREA OF A POLYGON!!!! It's not that it's challenging or anything, but I'm probably going to end up killing 70 trees with all the work I have to show. Lord, I pray that you help me in this time of epic-hand-falling-off-ishness.

Just for giggles, I've decided to give you a problem to see if you can solve it(If you can remember anything about how to). I swear, this is straight off the worksheet.

Find the perimeter and area of a regular pentagon circumscribed about a circle with a radius of 3. (Hint, hint, nudge, nudge, kick, kick, pummel with a sledgehammer: it's much easier if you draw a picture).

Once, you've been shown, it's pretty easy, it just takes (said like Squints in Sandlot) FOREVER!! When everyone's in town, I shall show all the Magical Ways of Mrs. Geodken and how to solve the problem. If you can take that much math at once.

On the flip side, there will be a makeup dance for the Sadie Hawkins this Friday, and I must say I am shocked on how many of my girl friends(two words, I'm not una lesbiana), have asked me whether I'm going or not. I have either told them "I don't know, probably not" or flat out "No." And then they have to ask "But why, oh Amy, why?". Well, jeez, let's think. Not interested, cuz all they'll play is rap(BARF!!!) and then I just am not that into going to a school dance and being smushed against a wall by all who attend! Sorry!

Anyway, I need to get working on my forever-long Geometry homework! CYAS!!!

Dark Shadows

What did Vernon do as a kid when he got home from school?
This is not really a question that would come to mind for anyone. Yesterday, I got the answer to that question. Chiller channel was running a 24 hours marathon of a remake of Dark Shadows.
It was a Gothic soap opera that would come on in the afternoon when Vernon got home from school. He was glued to the TV all day yesterday and last night.
We all got to hear the spooky music and the vampire themed show dialogue all day and watch laughable scenes that were hokey with the fake gore and vampire eye contacts. But was fun to see Vernon get into the show so excitedly.
The two teenagers wandered off after about the 5th hour. Too many commercials for me on Chiller Channel.
How ama-za-zing is it that this soap opera has retained such a cult following as Dark Shadows. Check out some of the links.
The remake has Jean Simmons (movie star) and Michael Weiss (the Pretender) in the show.
I wonder what else will come up from Vernon's past?

Colt's Movie Quote #3

"Are you sure this water's sanitary? It looks questionable to me."
A favorite Kiddo film, ask your children what movie this is from.

14 UNBIRTHDAYS LEFT!!!

I still can't believe it! I HAVE 14 DAYS LEFT OF (haha) BEING 14!!!!! haha! Next thing you know, I'll be driving!!! haha!!! AND (legally) DATING!!!! haha!! IDK why this is so happy-making. Guess I'm just weird like that. Mother Dearest has promised a surprise. I've asked her for hints, but all she says is "SURPRISE". Pathetic. She probably knows if she gives me a hint, I'll figure out eventually what it is. A Shopping Spree @ Hot Topic??!!! A new belt from Harley Davidson???!! A Music Spree @ Best Buy??!!!! Just a one word hint would make me ponder for another week. ONE WORD!!! Or a syllable!

THANK GOD TODAY IS FRIDAY!!!! This week has been so long! I wish I could have the joy of telling you I get to sleep in till nine tomorrow, but I have to be up at school at 7:45 for Pre-UIL. That and then we have to go see Paw-paw. And then we have to go to the Grand Opening of Fishburn's Violin Shop. Not to mention Grocery Shopping and all that crap. Yeah, I have a feeling I'm not gonna sleep in this weekend. I am kinda hoping that it'll rain and we'll have a cold front cuz it's getting slowly back up to icky hottness outside.

Colt is such a teenager at heart right now. He doesn't want me to say that Mom and him will be at the 7th grade retreat. He totally freaked out when I started typing it. Angsting little weirdo. I hope I'm past that. The only reason I might have angst time is when I receive my Monthly Gift From Mother Nature.

Love you, and hope you have a good weekend!!!

TV quote for the Older viewer

Two people standing in a corn field, "We salute Cut-N-Shoot, Texas, population 1,158."

Many other people stand up and wave their hats saying "SAAAAA - LUTE!"

Movie Quote 2 from Colt

"THE DREJ!!!"
later in the movie "You're just like your father, Cale."

You get a super Duper Movie Buff Card if you get this one.

Hint (answer) is here if you just cannot come up with anything.

Movie Quote from Colt

"I saw my opportunity and seized it."

All those with kids should be able to pin this one down for Colt.

HINT ALert
It has a frog who does mime and another voice screams out every so often "Tom! It's Tom Jones!"

It is Flushed Away I'll try to get it to watch at Mom's at Easter.

Eclair? maybe - Poop? NOT!

Here it is - not that bad - Really.

Exaggeration - Really.

It does seem kinda' flimsy though when compared to the plastic case. We are looking at cases now.

Getting Things Back In Order

This week is going to be hectic(don't know if I spelled that right...). Emily is now having to go visit an outside-of-school-counselor because she's "anorexic". Total BS. She's had everything "BLACK" taken away from her including her computer and her cell phone(although she got it back yesterday, but without unlimited text), and the black Converse that she got away with for the past 2 days have been taken away. UGH! And it's all her horrible ex's fault. It was really not in his hands to go to the counselors' office to say she's anorexic.

Then two nights ago, the ever strong and always together couple of Ashley and Kyle tragically ended. We think Kyle might be on drugs or something because he tried to explain why he broke up with Ashley, but was apparently extremely comfuzzling Ashley and Kim, who was there to hear it as well.

Not to mention that I haven't really been on top of my grades lately. I'm trying my best to achieve A's in Biology, Geometry and (outrageously) English(don't ask, cuz it makes me feel like a retard).

In Geometry, we've "started"(although it's more like reviewing) the area of triangles and parallelograms. Tomorrow we'll be adding the two new ones: Rhombi & Kites. Yippee. I've noticed, though that every time my friend(and as Ashley puts it "LOVER") Collin has been depressed every time he gets a paper back. I'm thinking about asking him whether he wants a tutor(ME), but I just haven't gotten around to it. I think this would be the perfect time, though, because he's totally clueless about how to find area. *crosses fingers* Wish me luck. In Biology today, we dissected a starfish(named Rupert by the boys in my group(which is the rest of my group of 4)) which was very interesting. In English we are reading Romeo & Juliet which I am thoroughly enjoying except for the fact that it's so short.

I have one sorta interesting Music update:
They are called Hey Monday. I especially enjoy Homecoming, but that's just me.

http://www.purevolume.com/HeyMonday

The other better Music update(to me):
I'm sure you've probably heard of them, but then again IDK. 3Oh!3(said like 3-0-3. There's even a hand gesture, but I'm not sure how to describe it.) I must warn that it has very unchildlike lyrics(*cough cough CUSSING cough*) I don't know why but I especially like Richman. :)

LOTS OF LOVE & MAKE SURE YOUR FINGERS ARE CROSSED FOR THE AFORE(cool word, I know) MENTIONED!!!!!

Video of my crazy family

This is a bit from when my Aunt Mary was in Houston, after we had gone to eat, back at Mom's house. Enjoy.

ps: I'm working on getting a video of Colt.

An Eclair covered in Baby Poop

I think it is definite that we will need to get a new case for Colt's violin. He came home from school yesterday telling us the his 44 year old case looks like a chocolate eclair wrapped in baby poop. And, of course, EVERYBODY is making fun of how the case looks. The case is a dark brown on the sides with tan-beige panels. Not really baby poop color but Colt likes the analogy. It strengthens his case about needing something less offensive to his sensibilities. I don't think that it is everybody, but more Colt who is making fun of the case.

Colt's Violin

Colt was instructed by his Orchestra teacher that he is ready for a full size violin. We currently rent him a 3/4 violin, and before that he was on a 1/2 size violin. The blessing in this is that Vernon's brother, Rick, played violin and told Colt that when he was ready for the full size violin to call him. We picked up the violin on the 14th of March. The bows had no hair and one was warped beyond recognition. THe violin itself needed new strings and the bridge had come off. It really didn't look so hot. We took it last Monday to the violin shop of Mr. Fishburn off of Spring-Cypress just to the west of FM 249. Mr Fishburn looked at the violin and declared he could have it in tip-top shape in a day. Sure enough, on Tuesday, the violin looked great, everything where it should be and sounding like a violin not a dead cat. Colt had to get a new bow, but was able to keep the case. Although we might consider replacing the wood case with plastic for better protection and durability. The wood case is 44 years old like the violin. We also got an appraisal of the violin's worth, set at $1900-$2000. I think that alone convinced Colt to practice more last week so that he could see how he sounded on a valuable instrument!! I'll have to get him on video for you all to hear.

For My Sisters

I did it, I got some ...

no, not hair coloring.....

no, not a manicure......

no, not a massage.....

..............

..............

...............

yes, it is anti-wrinkle face cream.
I looked in the mirror and saw these bags under my eyes that I don't remember being there and figured that, maybe, is what is making me look so tired all the time. I went to Ulta and perused all the wonderful types of face creams, anti-wrinkle solutions and serums and decided that a two prong approach is maybe best. I am using a face cream day and evening with a nighttime cream for my bags(under my eyes). It promises to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and smooth skin tone and color. We will see what happens. Not that I am wanting to look younger, just not tired all the time. Got to use a coupon too, to decrease the cost of the gold in a jar. Yikes, but it is all so expensive.
I also got some really bright nail polish to brighten things up, Amy was surprised and pleased by my choice.

Random, just random thoughts

The pollen is a yucky and yellow haze that is adhering to my car. Makes my eyes water and my nose run just to think about it.
Why do they call it a building - it is already built. Same thing with Parking Lots - You've parked or are at park, not usually active parking, the majority of the time the car is there it is parked.
Nail polish I like is not being made anymore. I paint my nails so irregularly that I don't buy much nail polish, so I went to buy some of the Revlon Colorstay two step packs and no one has it anymore. Apparently no one liked it as much as I did. Not that I paint my nails a lot but at times when I can grow them and I am not down in the dirt or grunge I do have some nails that do look nice when painted. But I am essentially a lazy person so I want something that gets done and lasts for at least 5-7 days without reapplying. Colorstay did that and alas it is now gone. Whatever shall I do after I run out of what I have?
I have found myself discussing God a bit this week. Mostly from a standpoint of death and what comes after this life. A couple of my patients are on hospice and it just leads to spiritual discussions. I am so moved by the gratitude of these people by the smallest thing that we, our office, do for them. I am often asked about my beliefs. Am I afraid to die? I answer as honestly as I can, that No, I am not afraid to die. What I am afraid of is leaving my family and especially, my children behind. Do I believe in reincarnation? no, one soul, one body. Do I think people can see the departed while still in the human world? Yes, but only if they are approaching the transistion to the next world, like dying. What do I think it will be like? peaceful, with a welcoming party of those who have died before me. A great fantastic reception, with no pain, no suffering, and no grief. What a place to be when you have just died.
Okay, enough existentialism. Sunny day with no breeze to blow pollen up my nose, I am looking forward to going home and spending time with my family. Maybe have a drink, although last night I had a hard cider and ended up sawing logs on the sofa through Criminal Minds. Bummer! And I need to get Amy to add something to the blog for all of you out there. Happy Thursday!

Sunshine

Today it is a beautiful sunny day here in Texas. Glorious temperatures. Just perfect for a Spring Break week. I am hoping that Vernon and Amy do get to do something fun.
Today the plan is for the fence job to get started and for Colt to do some major poop-scooping in the backyard. How's that for Spring Break enjoyment?!!

Does It Ever Stop?

Yesterday, Amy and Colt were playing chess when I got home. It was nice because they had both worked very hard on the list I had left for them. My kitchen was clean, floors were vacuumed and mopped, laundry completed and they had gone shopping with Vernon. So I was really impressed to see them getting along so well.
But I spoke too soon, as soon as someone had won the game, chess pieces went flying and children started yelling and throwing accusations at each other. I appears that if one is to win the other is to get upset or the winner is to gloat their victory in an unseemly fashion which irritates/annoys the other to behave just as bad. I am tending on this one to take the side of the person who was in tears over the event and actions of the offender. Why? The tearful one does not usually get emotional, nor does this person usually win. So when the tearful one won - finally - the offender got pissy and offensive at the tearful one's victory.
I laid it out - in my usual multi-prong approach;
1. the tearful one doesn't usually win, and yet is never a sore loser
2. the offender should be happy for the tearful one at their accomplishment
3. it is Lent - it is time to put others ahead of ourselves - so we should be more concerned for the other person than ourselves
4. you both are irritating your father and I - cut it out
5. if you can't rejoice in the other's success then you cannot play together
6. make your choices how you will respond to others, you can't control their behavior but you can decide how you will respond - is it a response that is mature and wise? or is it the response of a toddler who cannot control their baser instincts?
7. it is only day 1 of the week, you'd better not let this continue or your father, who is home with you both, will not let either of you enjoy what remains of the vacation.

Things settled down but the offender was off by them self for the majority of the evening until the meal was served. They even missed the favorite show -"Big Bang Theory".

At least when they were 2 and 4 they were easier to distract, now they hold onto the grudge and attitude much, much longer!

Shopping - I hate it!

It is the necessary evil but I must admit to you all, I dislike having to go shopping. It may the fighting the crowds of people or the impatience of standing in line or the fact that as big as I am I never find the clothes that I like (not that that is saying much as I can't match colors).
So out we went yesterday to get a new toothbrush but they didn't have it at the store we went to. And we went to get Colt's full size violin. Nor did they have the size shoe that Colt is wearing nor - a men's 6. Groceries - gotta eat - took a while with only two checkers to line up for. We took Vernon's dad out to eat at a new Chinese buffet - overate with major gastric discomfort. Then we needed to replace our cell phones - that took 2 hours alone! But we did get the 3G compatible phone (not that we know what to do with a 3G access). I actually asked the clerk what 3G stood for and both of my children rolled their eyes at me - How Rude!
What did we achieve? We have to go out again today to get the toothbrush and we will recycle a load of books at Half-price Bookstore.
I may have to resort to buying the boy shoes on line.
I really hate shopping - unless of course it is at a book store. Books don't care how fat you are or if you put on makeup or if you have bad breath. No wonder I love books and reading;-p

Are You Superstitious?

It is another Friday the 13th. Yep, second one of the year, February was the first, with movie releases to emphasize the spookiness of the day. Stupid really. I have my black cat at home, ladder in the garage, and salt in the pantry.
I've enjoyed looking at the superstitious things we humans engage in with Monty this week. He is this crazy character who decided Monday to give up his superstitions with adverse events popping up for days after.
I myself, am loath to breaking mirrors. The movie, "The Brothers Grimm" reinforced that superstition. So if I have to throw away a mirror, I wrap it in newspaper, tape it shut and discard it in the trash. Silly, huh?
I'm sure we all have our personal superstitions, so do tell - What is your superstition?

Movie Quote

"What good is having dwarves if they don't do chores?"
From Vernon's favorite movie.

Growing Up Is Hard

Today I realized that my baby isn't my baby anymore.
Colt is quickly gaining in height and stature. We went to Mass on Sunday and he grabbed his sandals from last fall and put them on in the car only to find out that his toes stick out at least an inch on both feet. Uncomfortable to say the least and sadly, it was also funny to see his toes so far beyond the end of the sole. I checked his shoes this morning that we just bought a month ago to find that the tips of his toes are at the end of the shoe. Luckily, we had also gotten him a pair the next size up so he does have something to wear when the current pair gets too tight.
This morning wasn't going well for Colt and I. He felt like I was treating him like a baby when I said, "Honey, you need to move faster" as he showered, and then again later as I hurried him to get moving.
"Mom, quit treating me like I'm a baby!"
I had to assure him that I wasn't treating him like a baby. If I was I'd be drying his hair and dressing him and brushing his teeth for him.
He did calm down but not before he had fully expressed his frustration at being a new teenager by slamming doors and giving me the 'I hate you' stare a few times.
Dear God, Help me deal calmly and wisely with TWO teenagers. Amen.

100th Post!!!

So what shall it be today?
How about we talk about how much I dislike Reconciliation? I'm sure other people don't like confession either.
I do feel better after 'fessing up to my mistakes and unloving actions. But the whole aspect of telling it to some guy called a priest is the unsettling aspect. I really have a hard time thinking that they won't remember what I said in the confessional. After all they are human too.
I wish the old "hide in a hole" confessionals were still available. With the sliding panel in the dark with the soft whisper of God's voice soothing my shame and praying with me.
As you know it is Lent and our church is having it's communal penance service tonight. Ugh! I guess I should go if to be nothing more than a good example for my kiddos and to also get that forgiven feeling back again.

Any Ideas?

What to do for Spring Break? That seems to be the question at my house. I myself will be working. But Vernon and the kids will be out of school. So this weekend Vernon got all up in arms regarding what they would do.
The Texas Renaissance Festival grounds has the King's Orchard where you can pick strawberries. I was asked "Do you think it is a good deal to go there? It is $3.35/lb and you pick your own." I said that I thought that we could probably do better at the grocery store because the gas alone would drive the price up higher. Then Vernon got pissy and upset because I wasn't over the moon about going. He said that maybe he just wanted to go and see what was there and that I wasn't going to be going anyway.
Fine, but that is not what you asked me. And if you go and get a ton of berries, who is going to do prep and storage of the fruit? I am too lazy to want to come home and be processing a bunch of fruit after you all went out and picked it. At that point though, it was better to just be quiet with my thoughts.
Then he asked Amy about the zoo, she said that if there wasn't anything new that she wasn't particularly interested in going. Space Center Houston was also mentioned and Amy simply asked "Is there a new exhibit?" At which point in time Vernon replied loudly, "If you want we can just stay at home and I'll give you so much work to do you'll be glad when school starts back up again! I'm just trying to find something fun to do for us when we are out of school."
I quickly jumped in with a "Hey! Calm down, we are just going through things. If you want to go to the King's Orchard, then go. If you want to go to the zoo or Space Center, then go. We are just looking over ideas. No one said 'NO, I AM NOT GOING!' You can even go ice skating, or to Blue Bell in Brenham, or see the wildflowers, or go the the Chinese terra cotta soldiers in Katy. No one is shooting your ideas down, we are just looking at both sides of each idea." I'm not sure that helped the situation.
I guess Amy and I were to negative or critical or Whatever for Vernon.

Look out!!

The Irvin Girls are all together for a week. That would be Sharon, Mary and Carol. They are on a cruise with some poor hapless victims who will have to be a party to their reminiscing and laughter sessions. We got a small taste of it last night as we went to dinner with them before they hopped on the ship today.
They are going to have a blast.
To anyone who is with them - Pictures are wanted of their trip when you come back. We are all looking forward to some new stories about what trouble The Three Irvin Girls got into!!

I wanna call it Hope, but that sounds too lame

I know doing two posts in such a small period of time is unhealthy, but I'm too bored to do anything else.

I just got a call from Emily(one of da bestest friends of mine), saying that Lucas(one of our friends from biology that comes up w/ the randomest crap outta NOWHERE), asked her out.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm happy for her and all. But I have a serious question: WHAT THE HELL(yeah, I said hell) IS WRONG WITH ME??!!! It seems like I can only keep a guy's attention for a week or two and then ZAP! no longer is there anything remotely interesting about me.

I've pondered this over and over. I've come up with several conclusions, but then I don't know.

1) My laugh. If you have ever seen the movie about Mozart that I think was made in the eighties where they have Rossini tell the story, I'm sure you couldn't help but giggle at Mozart's laugh. Mine's not that far from it. Yeah.
2) I'm too loud. When I'm around my friends, I seem to shout for some reason. I've really tried to work on it, but living with a nearly-deaf father doesn't help. I don't know how many times people have made comments on my volume issue.
3) I read. I've been told by Ashley that reading in the middle of class(of course, while the teacher's NOT up in front lecturing), is a big turn-off. I've minimized it a whole lot, except for maybe in English, where we have to read.
4) I'm not part of the girly-girl club. I'm not saying you have to scream whenever a cockroach crosses your path or when a bee lands on your lunch, but I guess you at least have to look the part. I don't wear make-up. I don't specifically wear a lot of jewelry. I definitely don't talk about "this cute bag I saw at the mall the other day!"(partially because I don't get out much).
5) I'm not particularly built. I have no butt and my chest is not very built, but it's there.

I don't know how bad these things are, but of some things I'm positive:

1) I'm not ugly. I don't think I'm the most beautiful thing that walked the earth(far from it, I think, no matter how much my mother says so), but I know I'm not hideous.
2) I'm not an idiot. I'm not particularly known for failing my classes, although I occasionally fail daily grades.
3) I have a sense of humor. No matter how perverted it may be sometimes, I have one.

I just hope that one day, I'll find a guy that's just as loud, just as handsome and just as smart as me. I've mentioned this to my friends and they all seem to agree(and maybe it's cuz they don't wanna hurt my feelings, even though I've told them not to worry). They don't think there's anything wrong with me. On second thought, I don't really know why I let it get to me so much. Oh, well. I think it's part of haveing 35 un-birthdays left before turning 15 and never being asked out in that period of time.

On a happier note, I think I got an A on my geometry which would really help, since I got a 50 on the quiz. Hopefully. :) YIPPEE!!!!

Designated Driver and Chauffeur

I am so sorry some of you weren't able to join me on my most exciting day in a long time.

Vernon had a minor meltdown when he left his keys at home and had to come back to get them. We passed each other on the road.

I started out this morning with Amy and Colt to the dentist for a truly fun dental cleaning and GUESS WHAT??

No cavities or other major dental work required - WaaHoo!!

Then I had the thrill to take Amy and Colt to their respective schools. I headed back home to eat and straighten up a bit before I left to go to my Mom's.

I was the designated driver for her today since she had to get her colonoscopy. It all looked good and she is delighted to report her next colonoscopy is not due for another 5 years. We then went for a quick bite to eat at IHOP, where our waitress was Eileen, no it wasn't Eileen, I don't really know her name, but she was nice.

Then off the the post office to track down Mom's missing mail and back around to her house.

Next journey was over to pick up Amy from Orchestra rehearsal and then on to the Allergist to get new prescriptions. Amy is looking good and is cleared for another year with her Astelin and Veramyst to keep her tonsils behaving properly.

I am once again back home and looking forward to a light meal and an early bedtime. It seems so amazing that driving and sitting around can be so tiring.

Have a super Friday everyone!!

ME AND MY GANG!!!!

I have five amay-zah-zing friends. We don't particularly fit in with the popular peeps(AKA the preps(sorry if that offends you)). We more or less fall into the nerd category or the "EMO" category. Some of you are probably thinking why? ME: heehee! HAVE YOU SEEN US??? heehee!! Ashley, one of the five bestest(I know it's not a word, but get over it......grammar freak.....) friends, and Kyle(AKA(at the moment) KYLEE-QUA(like shuh-knee-qua!!)) are dating and I have no problem with that. Kim is the third best friend, even though we aren't that close. Emily has been my friend since 4th grade and we're still going, even though she doesn't very much like Kyle, Ashley or Kim. I'm pretty sure she's got nothing against Kim, but that's another story that I'm not sure you need to know beginning to end.

ANYWAY!!!!!!....., I have five amay-zah-zing friends that will always stand for me. We all have tons of inside jokes. If you read the comment on Aunt Theresa's blog that I made about boogers, I feel that there is a need to elaborate.

Things you need to know to understand this:
1) Me and my friends have a perverted sense of humor sometimes, and this particular inside joke is a great example.
2) English is always dead quiet, even though we(Ashley and I) absolutely adore Ms. Reid.
3) ..... uhhhh....... i really just put that to make it seem finalized..... XD (tilt head to left to see)

So, obviously, you've noticed that this happened in English. Every, oh, I guesstimate, 1-2 weeks, we get these annoying vocabulary sheets that accumulate and then escalate into a quiz at the end of the six weeks. We received one of the afore mentioned vocab. sheets and I immediately started working on it. I assume Ashley did, too, but I wasn't particularly paying attention(I'm broke.... heehee). A moment later, Ashley turns and shows me her paper with her finger pointing to a word on the front. These worksheets have the words on the front along with definitions and synonyms and antonyms. Ashley had pointed to the word EXOTIC. I read the definition and couldn't help but giggle. Part of it said, and I quote, (AHEM), "excitingly strange".

If your humor is challenged, and you didn't get the joke, I am dearly sorry. Please do not blame me for not providing further explanation. It ruins every joke if you have to explain it.

I have another band. Some of you may have heard of them. At first, I didn't really have an ear for heavy metal-screamoness like this, but Avenged Sevenfold and my new Metallica(thanx a ton, Uncle Mike, Tony, Nick and Aunt Lisa!!! I LUVS IT!!!) CD have helped with it. If you know for a fact that heavy metal-screamoness is not for you, I suggest you stay away. I might also add the PARENTAL WARNING!!! There is some pretty foul language in this and I do sincerely apologize. If you want to train your ears to liking this music, I suggest listening to All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me) first.

Bullet For My Valentine is actually from England. I wasn't aware of this until I read a little further down the page. AwEsOmIcLe, HuH???!!!! I'm trying to find a good Halestorm station on Purevolume, but I have not been successful yet. More Music Updates later!!!

BTW, mother, I finished my Spanish homework. :)

LUV YA LOTS!!!!

Nap, Anyone?

It must be that chop suey I had for lunch, I am ready for a nap. Just to stretch out on a nice soft sofa with a light blanket to ward off a chill in the air conditioning. 30 minutes would be heaven, even 20 minutes would be near nirvana.

Anyone want to join me in a siesta?

If we do it together it won't count as not working.

Right?

Communication

Please, do not misunderstand me - I love my job. I like working for cancer patients and being able to make that journey easier.
I just wish that some people would talk to me, just tell me what is going on and what your expectations are for me to achieve. At work we have a new practice administrator and we are opening new offices in The Woodlands and Huntsville.
BUT have we announced who the new practice administrator is or have we told people what they are to do to help open these offices? What are the details that are essential to the staff for them to perform the tasks that are assigned to them? Who is responsible for what? If we don't have the information, where do we find the information?
Who is my new supervisor? What is the chain of command now? What is the person's name? Why are we allowing this doctor to practice without contracts in place?
Why is my office being dumped on? Because we are slow? Because our doctor may be leaving? Because we actually know what we are doing?
We had a presentation a month ago from our executive director telling us that communication needs improvement. Obviously, it hasn't started , yet.

Annoying Brothers

Brothers are annoying. They fart and then pretend like it wasn't them. Or they fart and wait to see if you call them on it, or they fart and try to make the most annoying noise with their gas. Or they fart foul silent farts that could peel the paint off the walls. Or they fart and tell others around you that it was you who farted. Or they fart and blame it on your stinky butt cat.
Then brothers also use your bathroom and don't shut-up the whole time they are in there. Really, I don't need to know what itches and to what extent it itches.
