Witches!

Colt, Vernon and I went to the Junior High Youth Rally on Saturday. We got to join up with about 750 other youth and chaperones to celebrate our faith, play games, eat, learn and go to Mass.
At one point after lunch we got to wander around the "midway" and go to different booths and play games. One of the booths got Vernon's attention. "Witches, Mama!" was his comment.
When Vernon was a little sprite, his mom took him and his brother, Bruce , to the grocery store, Rice Epicurean. She left them in the car with the windows rolled down, common in those days, to emerge later from the store with Vernon and Bruce yelling frantically, "Witches, Mama!" She looked over to where they were pointing urgently to see several black habit clad nuns.
I'm not sure what happened after that, but every time Vernon sees a nun with a veil he always comments, "Witches, Mama!"
We did venture closer to look at her booth which was strewn with chaplets. Vernon got a lesson on chaplets and decided to get one, I did have him leave a donation. Now he has a chaplet - not that he'll do anything with it. But he got it from a "Witch"!
